Dr. James Wright, Premier Dental Health of Greer, SCDr. James E. Wright Jr. – Dentist

Dr. Wright was born and raised in the Upstate. He attended Lees-McRae College for one year where he was a member of the track team. He took classes at North Greenville Univeristy during the next two summers and attended Clemson University his second year. Dr. Wright was accepted to Pharmacy school and spent the next three years at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he obtained a degree in Pharmacy and was licensed to practice. During Pharmacy school, Dr. Wright served as Regent of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity from 1981-1983. He also was active in the Student Government Association. In 1983, he began Dental School at The Medical University. While there he was a member of Psi Omega Dental Fraternity. In 1987, Dr. Wright received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, was licensed to practice Dentistry, and came back to Greer and opened his practice.

In 1989, Dr. Wright graduated from Leadership Greer. That class began Junior Leadership Greer and he continued to help support that effort for the next twenty years. In 1996, Dr. Wright was awarded Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). Dr. Wright has held membership in many organizations including the S.C. Pharmaceutical Association, The American Pharmaceutical Association, the Society of Hospital Pharmacists, The Piedmont District Dental Society where he served many years on the Peer Review Committee, The S.C. Dental Association, The American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, and the Greer Lions Club. Dr. Wright has been listed in various “Who’s Who” publications and also in America’s Top Dentist.

When not working, he especially enjoys spending time with his dad and family, attending Clemson sporting events, and Greenville Drive games. He also loves travel and tries to incorporate scuba diving into trips whenever possible. Dr. Wright is active in his church and was ordained as Deacon in 1999. He is also involved with both domestic and foreign mission efforts. He has been involved with treating the kids who visit each year from Belarus and has lead several medical missions to Honduras with Baptist Medical and Dental Missions International.

As a Registered Dental Hygienist of 13 years, I work hard to educate patients on oral hygiene and home care prevention while also performing gentle dental cleanings. I truly delight in meeting new patients and being given the opportunity to become life long friends. The most rewarding part of my day is seeing patients smile. In my time off I look forward to spending every moment with my family and friends. We enjoy sports, camping, hiking, and traveling.

I am a dental assistant here at Premier Dental Health. I enjoy talking to our patients and making them feel comfortable about coming to the dentist while providing the best care to them. I love the friendships that are built with our patients and my goal is helping them achieve a beautiful smile while building confidence in themselves. Spending time with my family is my passion! I love my church, traveling, Braves baseball, and the outdoors.
